Lorenzo Micheli was born in Italy in 1975. Having studied with Paola Coppi, Frédéric Zigante, and Oscar Ghiglia, Micheli is a graduate of both the Conservatory of Trieste and the Musik-Akademie of Basel, Switzerland.

Lorenzo Micheli burst onto the international guitar scene in 1999 when he won the Guitar Foundation of America’s annual competition in Charleston, South Carolina.
