Pepe Romero was born on the 8th of March, 1944, in Malaga, Spain and is the second son of "The Royal Family of the Guitar", The Romeros. His father, Celedonio Romero was his only guitar teacher. His first professional appearance was in a shared concert with his father at the early age of seven.

With his father and brothers, Pepe Romero helped establish The Romeros Quartet as the leading classical guitar ensemble in the world.
